“地球一小时”（Earth Hour）醒觉活动, 並于3月27日，晚上8點半至9點半，同步熄掉所有电源长达1小時

Earth Hour Malaysia - 8.30 pm, Saturday 27 March 2010

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour was taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people casting their vote for Earth. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from.

屆時，全球超過1000個區域也將會“熄燈”以示支持。
根據世界自然基金會（WWF）調查，人類對用電的疏忽也是造成破壞地球的主要因素。而三年前于澳洲悉尼發起的“地球一小時”成功引起全球注意並成為環保的主要課題。
去年，WWF號召全球10億人來自全世界不同國家的人民參與，而今年WWF希望號召全球人类，其中包括個人、政府以及社團一同參與其盛，而馬來西亞WWF亦將率領全國人民參與這項全球性活動。
