30-hour Famine Camp 2008 (饥饿30营)

Hi, everybody. The yearly 30-hour Famine Camp is coming back. Our group will organise the DIY Camp(do it yourself) with the help of our group members. For those who want to join us, pls register to us ASAP. (limited for 40 seat only) Dateline 12/6/2008.

Below is the DIY Famine Camp Details :
Date : 23/8/2008 (SAT) - 24/8/2008 (SUN)
Venue : SEPANG GOLDCOAST, Selangor
Time : 9am gather at SMKRL, pandamaran, PORT KLANG.
Fees : Bus, Accomodation, Mineral Water, t-shirt, Stationery & Others
(We hope can get sponsor to help us for the camp fees)

Thing to Bring :
Shirt, Pant, Jacket, Towel, Cap, Sport Shoe, Selipar, Personal Toiletries, Medicine, Sleeping Bag, Tent, Torch Light, Drinking Water, Stationery, Others

IMPORTANT MEMO :
pls be inform that within the 30 hour famine, we cannot eat anything except drink water. Pls behave yourself. We will brief you all on that day about the rules & regulations.Hope you all enjoy the camp. See you.

INTRODUCTION
The 30-Hour Famine has always been about enlarging worldviews and empowering people to rise up and fight poverty and injustice. This year we are taking it a step further and giving West Malaysians the power to run their own unique Famine camps. It is our hope that the Famine will be taken to every corner of the country!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
30-Hour Famine = 26 Hours + 4 Hours
“Do It Yourself (DIY)” Famine Camps are held in schools, colleges, offices, and any other place where there are a group of people who want to make a unique stand against poverty.
• For 26 hours, they fast and learn about global poverty issues, guided by the Famine Kit and training provided to camp leaders.
• The last 4 hours are spent at a star-studded Famine Countdown event, where they break fast together with Famine Campers from across the country.

WHY THE CHANGE IN FORMAT?
• We seek to empower people in the fight against poverty.
• We want to give them the avenue to run the Famine in their own unique way.
• We want the Famine to reach every corner of the country.We believe decentralisation is the way forward, as proven by our counterparts in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, Taiwan and Korea.

WHEN WILL IT BE HELD?
23rd August 10 am Official Famine Weekend begins*
24th August 12pm - 4pm Famine Countdown event in National Hockey Stadium, Bukit Jalil*
Camp leaders are free to choose other dates between 1 August and 22 August 2008.

这如何进行呢?
饥饿30 = 26 + 4 小时
“Do It Yourself (DIY)” 饥饿迷你营可于校园、学院、大专、企业公司 甚至是任何可以让一群志同道合的有心人士聚 集在一起的地方举行，让人们站上对抗贫穷的 同一阵线。

• 在最后的 4 小时， 参加者一同前往一个集中地点，参加一个精彩 绝伦的4小时饥饿30倒数活动，大家在倒数之后 一同享用解饥餐，饥饿30圆满落幕!

为什么要改变饥饿30过去的进行模式?
• 我们希望透过培训，让人们有能力发起对抗贫 穷的积极行动。
• 我们希望参加者有机会发挥自己的创意，自组 自己独特的饥饿30营。饥饿30不应该是一成不�� �� �的。
• 我们希望透过这管道，让饥饿30精神传遍马来� �� ��亚每一个角落。我们相信，让更多人发起并推动饥饿30运动的� �� ��式对抑止贫穷祸害影响全球孩童的抗争有 利� ��国际世界宣明会已有多个办事处采取这种 模� ��，他们包括：美国、加拿大、澳洲、纽西 兰� ��英国、台湾及韩国。

HIGH ROPE COURSE

Hei, hei, hei, Skytrex Adventure again.......
We have organise again the trip to Bukit Cerakah for testing your brave when taking this High Rope Course.
The Course consists 23 varying trails, which takes you into the forest and up to 2 hours to complete without your feet touching the ground.
Your can feel the speed of 100-metre Flying Fox and hanging over 17-metre high from the ground.
Before you ready for the journey, the Skytrex's instructor will give you a safety briefing and teach you about the Personal Protective Equipment.
So, please register quickly and makesure yourself tough when taking this course.
